La « Clown Theory » de Jango Edwards s’adresse aux débutants, aux étudiants et aux professionnels du spectacle. Elle va les aider à refléter le monde qui les entoure, et à s’adresser plus simplement et plus directement au public. La classe ne sera pas une extension de ce qu’ils ont déjà pu apprendre, mais un « back-to-basics », un retour aux fondamentaux qui leur garantira un épanouissement de la connaissance du jeu.
Jango Edwards ne spécialise pas ses élèves à des techniques de clown ou de cirque. Il y a autres écoles pour cela. Jango Edwards enseigne l’art de l’acteur clown.
Acteur clown, ce n’est pas une profession mais un art de vivre qui nécessite une compréhension des émotions, de la sensibilité, de la passion, du pathos et du cœur. L’essence du clown, dans le sens le plus pur, est la combinaison de l’innocence et de la maturité.
Le stage « Clown Theory » est conçu pour aider chacun à découvrir et à adopter son personnage clownesque. Dès la formation terminée, il pourra le faire vivre dans sa vie et dans sa carrière.
Diverses activités telles que jeux, exercices physiques, démonstrations sociologiques, improvisation et mimes faciliteront le retour à l'innocence et la découverte de la logique comique de chacun.

Mini biographie de Jango Edwards
Agé aujourd’hui de 62 ans, Jango Edwards est un clown et comédien américain installé en Europe depuis les années 70. De 1975 jusqu'en 1984, Jango est le fondateur du festival des imbéciles appellé “Fools Festival” un rassemblement annuel où tout le monde joue, enseigne et échange les secrets d'une tradition presque disparue. Il inspire ainsi la naissance du “Nouveau Clown”. Son style appartient au burlesque.

The art of the clown actor is not just a profession, but a lifestyle that demands
an understanding of emotion, sensitivity, passion, pathos and the heart.
Jango Edwards specializes in Clown Theory, through active participation in selected games, improvisational exercises and sensitivity instruction, combined with an introduction to the comic formula and its direct application to the actor for performance. He is both a devotee of the traditional art and an innovator of the 'nouveau clowns'.
The essence of clown, in the pure sense, is a combination of innocence and maturity. The Clown Theory Encounter is a way of uniting these qualities so each participant can discover and develop their personal clown, and apply it to their life after the course is completed. A combination of 20 years of professional experience, simple awareness and common logic, enables the instructor to reveal the clown character within each of us.
Through the use of assorted games, physical activities, socio-Logical demonstrations, improvisations and performance, each student will find his or her comic simplicity, innocence and logic, which are the fundamental ingredients of the clown formula. A play-environment is created, in which trust within the group ensemble can develop. This motivates the students to remember the innocence they have forgotten. It will also reveal present social and human conditions. It may sound complicated but in fact it's simple; it is the simplicity that is difficult for us to grasp.
Clown is a social character in all realms of life. The performance situation, be it theater or circus, is probably the most common form through which we know clowns; but it's the least important. The primary requirements to reveal your personal clown is knowledge of the comic formula and the creation of a clown heart. You have always had, and always will have, a clown heart, but to revive it demands the simple desire to regain and sustain your youth throughout all aspects of life.
“Clown Theory Workshop” reveals the innocence each of us has surrendered; and then proves it is never too late to recapture it again. It's a challenge, it's revealing but most of all it's fun.
